Default NX Inter-Cooler

What are your thoughts on this product.

It will be going on a SR20DET Greddy front mount.
Does it add that much horsepower. Is it a waste of money?

you referring to his signature and then the question or just being a smartass

they work....but they don't "add" power....they will reduce intake air temp charge lower than ambient to help with detonation (or is it preignition..long day sorry)...more effective in high boost situations or stop and go traffic in the dead of summer/cruising type stuff...and its easy to make and alot cheaper

the n-tercooler is a good setup for certain vehicles. The WRX with a top mount heat soaks like a biatch...and it would def help (especially for me in stop and go traffic).....if you are doing it to gain HP you are wasting money......its a deterrant for high boost detonation situations....

I had one on my mr2 with a trunk mount intercooler. It did add a little hp, but more importantly, one quick blast got rid off any built up heat soak form running it hard for extended periods of time. However, I woul never bother putting it on a front mount intercooler car which has plenty of airflow to keep it cool enough. Also, it runs out real quick cause it blasting a lot of nos at a time from a relatively small bottle.

If you really wanted to do this, couldn't you use CO2 and get the same effect for cheaper. It's cheaper to refill and probably cheaper to set up. Just a thought.

Sidenote: tkrskyline, do you have any more pics of that blue mr2 in your sig? I know you sold it, but I can't believe I've never seen it on the road before; it's hot.

I have found it hard to buy Co2. Most places want to do a bottle exchange. Where can you buy it?
