Question KACold Start question

I wanted to ask if it was common for high mileage 240's to have hesitation when you start up cold. Meaning, when I start up from being cold, the motor cranks up fine...but a when I take off, the car sometimes hesitates between first, second, and sometimes third. Its somewhat annoying, but after it comes up to normal operating temperture, it never happens. Is this a common problem with this cars with 90k+ with a stock motor? Is it something fairly inexpensive to fix...possibly by changing out wires, plugs, etc? I was going to purchase a Chiltons for the stock motor, but I plan to swap it out within a few months. Im not too familiar with this motor yet so Im searching for some freebie help . If its something more than routine maintence, then I'll be off to pick up some manuals. Thanks guys.

so you mean possibly there's hesitation in low RPM (from 1000-3000)?

I think it's fairly common.

i just saw this thread and thought i'd try it out on mine because i was having the same problem. well it worked just fine. however, i am curious if having the o2 sensor disconnected will have any other effects on the car.

I think an 02 sensor if mainly used for emissons purposes only...but Im not 100% sure. Might have something to do with the fuel as well.
