yeah so my sr tranny was doristyle beat on iam assuming, its hard getting it into 1st and reverse... when i actually do get it into reverse and i start moving this horrible grinding noise coming from the rear... usually only happens early morning when car first starts, but it happens once in a while during the day, cant distinguish what exactly is making the noise...

ive diff oil is to the top, sitting at idle there is a humming noise from below in the tranny... dont have time right now to swap ka and sr trannies and using sr bellhousings and what not...

haha that's happening to my car. i think my clutch needs to be adjusted. matt said something about that. and last night it wasn't going into gear and i noticed my clutch pedal was staying in a little so i pulled it out with my foot and pumped it and my car went into gear fine. maybe clutch master cylinder too? i dunno. but i'm having the same problem.

grinding noise in reverse on 240s .. esp in the morning = brakes. Couple of things.. 1. cheap pads 2. no brake quiet on pad surfaces 3. calipers old and sticking overnight (this was a Technical Bulletin at Nissan) Usually Nissan pads solves the trick though.

hrmmm, i dont have the clutch staying down problem, but if thats happening to you i would imagine that it would be something with the slave cylinder... but does it humm as well?? and that horrible grinding noise when backing up?

it doesn't hum, but it made the grinding noise once in reverse.

I had grinding noises when I went in reverse. It was the brake pads. You check those?
