Default Lsd J30?

I have a 96 240sx and im getting my SR sometime soon. Is a J30 lsd worth it? How much do they carge for putting them in? Is there another route I should go? I can get the rear end of cheap.

got mine 200 dollars...for a whole rear end.....its what ever u can spend.....u can get a cusco 2 way for bout 1000.....all i gota do is get the lsd put in...which im thinking of doing myself.....pretty crazy after hearing what happened to taylor....but j30s are supposed to bolt right into s14s.....and im not sure what kind of lsd taylor had

I did a J30 on an S13 and it wasn't too big of a deal. Jack stands, 3 ton jack, 12mm, 14mm, and 17mm(?) wrenches. Paid $200. If I recall correctly, the S14 and J30 both mount the same (unlike the S13), so it should be that much easier.

The problems come when you start playing with the gears and shims. SCC says that it'll probably be fine without adjustment. That's just a nice way of saying that you *might* f-up your diff.

what do u have to do to put a j30 in a s14?

i was juss reading the install section from 240sx.org and it said if i get a 95 up j30 i dont have to do any mods to put it in my my s14...juss stick it up in there....

They're longer. They compress the driveshaft. I'm living with that, see how it goes.
