Carey, great post.

As an employee of Secret Services, I can tell you this.

We have been dealing with SR20DET's since 2001. Our own swapped car, Enthalpy's Trogdor, was both a first for us, and a heavy learning experience. However with that car we have produced results that even Jim Wolf Technology is unable to match.

Because of our In-House Dyno, our cars are always tuned to peak efficiency before being released to our customers. Think of it as a burn-in procedure to make sure every part is working perfectly, so the customer doesn't have to let us know something is wrong.

Our cars routinely produce more power than the competition.
Scott's 180SX Does 539WHP on a stock block, holding the National Record and beating nationally acclaimed Phase2Motortrend in the race for highest horsepower on stock bottom end.

John(Vapor)'s Pretty Hate machine does 256 RWHP on a stock T25!! That's good for 13.3 @ 103 mph in the 1/4 mile on a full interiored s14, and did I mention he blew off the intercooler hose in 4th gear!!

Jay Levan's GT25R car does 362WHP @ 17.5 psi!!! Stock motor!! Stock manifold based!! T25!?!? What the heck!! That's right, only at Secret Services

We work with Estevan Mariani (Escaflowne) On all of our wiring intensive swaps. Estevan is one of the first in the nation to have S14 A/C Functioning 100% Stock and factory with a S13SR Redtop motor installed. Trust me, it's not as easy as it sounds. And don't worry, We never have any external switches or wiring that looks un factory there! Using 100% Factory relays for the a/c and other setups, our S13 into S14 swap is easily the best in the area, allowing users to use such performance ECU upgrades like a Power FC, SSPL Tuned ROM, and E-Manage, without having to re wire anything, or worry about letting the Magic Smoke out!!!

We also offer full SR20DET Service and upgrading in addition to just having the swap done. Nobody comes close in this area, as with a Secret Services install, you also get the dyno tuning to ensure the upgrades you are having done maintain a safe reliable factor of owning a fast car. Sometimes people don't do this step, and a quick and easy turbo and boost controller install can cause doom for the factory injectors and mass air sensor!

We were the first to run the 555cc injectors with a Z32mafs and an apexi S-AFC. In fact, Scott himself came up with the basic programming #'s so that people could plug the units in , and drive their car to the nearest dyno to have it tuned!

Experienced in dealing with all sorts of repair work on the SR's, we can fix broken valve trains, broken transmissions, install limited slip differentials, and repair just about anything that you bring to us! In addition we do metal headgasket installations, camshaft installations, you name it, we support the sr20det.
Just put cam gears in and need them tuned? Yep we've already been there and done that.

Experience is a very important thing to consider when dealing with who you want to work on your motor. The amount of downtime is directly related to the amount of mods that you're going to do at the time of a swap.

Our customers have always gone the extra step with doing a frontmount intercooler and installing a clutch, so our swaps are not usually done in two days. Making sure everything is done correctly the first time is our top priority, and for this reason we allow 1 to 2 weeks for a swap to be done. 90% of the time, the customer does not bring us everything that he/she needs for the swap to be done, and rather than wait for him to get back to us, we will go ahead and find that part so he/she can get back on the street faster. Remember, cars that don't get finished cost us all money.

I invite you to our Dyno Day this Saturday, beginning at 10AM, so you can see what Secret Services is all about. You will see that we are not just some guys who have done 1 or 2 swaps, but a shop that does a whole lot more. While we have done less than 10 swaps, our customer base is alot more SR20DET performance and maintenence, not necessarily swaps that are done. It's when they need work to be done that a 'swap shop' can't do that they come to us.

I have known Taylor Mahoney for some time now, since before he came to work at Secret Services. He's a great guy, he does great work. ( I know this because Scott and I taught him everything he knows about the SR20DET.) So because of that I know he does good work. If he has a question he asks us, If we have a question we ask him. It works great like that. Just because we are now at opposing shops doesn't mean that we are no longer friends. In fact, this last weekend we all went drifting together. So don't think this is going to cause some big war. It's not.

The customers will choose. I'm just here to have a fun time, and help people enjoy car life with RPS13

why not come up with some moneyh FIRST carey, save the unintelligent posts and quit riding on the nuts of whichever shop take syou seriously for the time being.

your sarcastic and beligerant posts are uneeded and disrepectful.

i have to fully agree with mattback on his post. the one benefit of secret services is their ability to dyno tune it once the car is finished, given their busy schedule. fortunately i am able to work on the car not only during the day, 6 days a week, but i am also known to stay late to get the job done and done correctly. i have been working on car since i was a young teenager and doing something like this comes second nature. and being part owner of secret services for over 2 yrs definately had a great hand in my learning experience. not only did i work there, but i delat with each and every person as if they were a long time friend adn treated each person with the utmost respect.

i think which ever you go with would be a worhtwhile investment in your car and either shop can fully satisfy your needs. just do plenty of research prior and ask around. you wont find many a person that has had any problem with my work or scott/matts.

plus you have to remember, up untill now, all the great work produced by secret services was my own work. not only was i a part owner, but i was also the only mechanic. matt and scott would both pitch in during their times off from their normal daily jobs to help me bang out some quick work. i treated each full build up as my own and plan to do so still as i grow with XAT. unfortunately with me being absent from secret services, the only times that projects can be finished there is during those same times when they are not at their normal jobs. but i fully stand by their work as they are both VERY compitent in what they do and know damn near everything there is to know about tuning these great cars.

It's nice that you guys compliment each other while still trying to gain business, very interesting. I think all that is left to be discussed would be price.

While the 'other guys' may budge on price. We won't.

We know what our time is worth, and the quality of work speaks for itself.
