Default 2k maxima rims question

I have a 2000 Maxima GLE, with 15 inch hubcaps. They've gotta go. I was lookin at 17 x 7 and 18 x 7.5 rims, and was wondering what the implications of having a wider rim/different offset are. My mom has a 2k Maxima SE, and has the 17 inch rims on that, but they also have a different suspension than the GLE's. I appreciate the help. Thanks

Also, the ADR DV8 rims I was looking at, the 17 x 7's say they need a +48 offset, while the 18 x 7.5's say they only need +42. Any thoughts or comments or anything, lemme know

the suspension difference isnt in the geometery but the springs and shock rates instead.. your mothers maxima rims will fit fine..... I'd look at getting 17x7 since its a common size and available widespread at a good price..

The reason the 7.5's are a different offset is partially because of their extra width. I dont know the specs on the 2000max but if u used www.tirerack.com to order or www.discounttiredirect.com i can pretty much guarantee they will fit.. IF you order tires at the same time, they can come mounted on the rim already and then you just throw them on at home and your good to go..

I run 235/45-17 on 17x8.5 +40mm on my 2000 SE. No rubbing or any other problems, however my car sits at stock ride height. In respect to tire diameter, this tire size is about as close as you can get to the stock tire size of 215/55-16 (on the SE).

My mom has a 2000 SE and my turning radius (the GLE model) is much better than hers. I dont know if this makes a difference in offset or anything for whichever rims i get, but thanks for the advice everyone. Also, my car has 205/65/15 on it now...How would I find out what tire sizes wouldnt affect my speedometer or odometer at all? Thanks.
