you guys are soooo funny....

so the big28 is making more power at 3500 than a stock 13??

guess again, stock 13s are making well over 220 wtq @ 3500 rpm with a stock turbo.

how is that for response motor!

i think the big28 is crap

crap spool
crap top end
crap efficiency

people buy it because people buy anything!!

in my opinions

and only mine because i am a dumbass ask anybody

spl 1 s15 28
spl 2 gt2530 (you have to use one to understand)
spl 3 25r .64 (ok so it will choke out, like a fucking t25 stock won't? )

bah.

well assuming a stock S13 makes 205HP or so.. thats like what 175-180whp? JDM S14's car makes 180whp from 3800... Thats what i was basing my statement off of. I need to see a dynochart of an S15 28, and a GT2530.....

i will have to agree with matt and scott. i am not to fond of a stock turbo rebuilt bigger. i would just go with another turbo. one of what matt said or a turbonetics, i have one on my car and i think it is fairly decent, it is older technology but is a powerful turbo for the price.

turbonetics can get you the turbo you want, but usually they dont reccomend it. what i suggest is that if you're ordering from tnetics, know what YOU need, dont let them tell you.

How do you determine what turbocharger is right for you? Are there calculations that can be made?

For example, I want about 330 to 350 whp out of my SR, but I want it to spool quickly. Would I have to rely on the opinions of experienced people who have used various turbochargers (is it turbos or turboes?) or is it possible to calculate this based on compressor maps?

Johann

*EDIT* Nevermind. I found an article in SCC that helps. Thanks anyways.

What crank HP does a stock S13 Redtop make?

Last i checked it was 205.... which - 20% = 164.. so i gave it a 10 HP advantage.. and JDM S14's car beat that 164 figure earlier than 3800...

So my assumption only reaffirmed my point.....

aww come on guys.. this was just starting to get good..

To continue I accept the fact that the BIGT28 isnt the BEST turbo out there, but isnt it like 500-700 dollars? thats pretty cheap, I havent seen a price on an S15 BB tho.... Big28 seems like a turbo that is well suited for the budget buyer looking to make 350whp... JDM S14's dyno is extremely impressive with its rock solid torque curve...

BB S15 turbo is around 800 less if you find one used from japan, but that is new. Funny kinda reminds me of an HKS turbo...
