what is the downside of drifting/donuts with my z besides tire wear..does it do anything to the alignment or suspension?

yes it wears out your suspension and drive train. stock cars are designed primarily to goes in straight lines and around corners, not sideways or in circles. do it long enough and frequently enough and something will break- guaranteed!

Yes invest in suspension my old 240 I broke power steering rack, tie rods, everyboot there was, an steering squeaked, just dont try drifting alot when your stock. 1 it will look an feel like shit, 2 youll end up breaking something, 3 its much easier with suspension work.

my bone stock 240 driftfted just fine. what makes the car drift good is the driver, not the car! if you need a worked car to drift you need more practice. hell i dont even need an lsd! granted if you did it in the rain it wouldn't tear up your car as fast.
