depends what camshafts you are using. if you are swapping stock ones in from an s13, its basically taking the old ones out and putting the new (older) ones in. an FSM is definately handy for torque specs. talk to mattback he has a step by step online manual for installing JWT cams, and everything is basically the same for other camshafts. its relatively simple if u take your time and dont half ass and use correct methods to take off the journal bearing caps and tighten to correct specs as per fsm or provided manual.

Yes I plan to go to dyno/bbq/meet. I also will be using stock cams from a S13.

I spoke with Courtesy Nissan yesterday and they told me that they don't sell the shims. I plan on buying new camshafts as well. Hey, Mattback,if I get the camshafts can you put them in for me and how much will it cost approximately?

JWT sells shims, and apparently you usually dont have to when installing jwt cams as they are made to comply and its rare to use shims. using stock ones i dunno. matt says you will, but you wont even know whether you need shims til you have the new cams in and measure the tolerances with a feeler gauge. kinda of a PITA.
