electric fan question
you have to find a key on source under your hood and hook it to that, or you could hook it up to a switch/relay that you could hit inside.. the first would work best if you had a circuit you don`t use (headlight washers for example) and tape into the circuit. that way you arn`t overloading the circuit. does that help or did you want to know excactly where to hook into?

all you have to do is find the ground pin for the relay and run it to a toggle switch where you can complete the ground whenever you want. turn fans on, turn them off. plus they retain the pre-set temp setting... check wiring schematics...

sil8ty`s way will work even better, why do you want to have control of them anyways? forget and leave them one night and kill your batt....are you overheating? what is the problem you are trying to solve?

I have the Flex a lite dual electric fans. The control unit it comes with is a POS. So i finally tossed it. I am running the fans with a switch with a light on which tells me for sure that fans are running.
Another good thing is that it can be controlled manually, so if i want, i can turn them on after a bit like in winters when it takes the motor to warm up. Without fans being on with ignition, motor will warm up faster. Than i can flip the switch to on and be on my merry way.
When i overheat, i can turn off the motor and still leave the fan on....(Nice for emergency situations)
Only downfall is if you leave you fans on by accident, your battery will be toast. But that is not possible as the fans are loud, you'll hear em on when you get out of the car or the light on the toggle switch should tell you that when you are in the car.
I am just glad i got rid of the stupid control unit which was a pos.
I just did this, i know what to get and everything, shoot me an email and i'll walk you through

definately, and since youre only completing the ground that the computer does (at the right temperature) you're not running a direct bypass - therefore they only come on if the ignition is on... When you shut the car off, the power to the circuit for the fans cuts.
