I have a 92 S13 base model coupe.
Clean fron firewall back, needs a complete front end.
I have an $8000 budget plus or minos couple of hundred.

I cant seem to decide what exactly I want to do with this project.

Originally the plan was:

- S13 front end, SR20det, 5 lug, and regular bolt ons, FMIC, downpipe, exhaust, MAF ,fuel pump and boost controller.

Then I thought:

-USDM front end, RB25DET, 5 lug and same bolt ons.

Now I can't decide on either or neither.

I'm loking for a toy, not a show car or a race car, just something to have fun with.

I know this is always a personal preference type question, but I'm always interested in seeing what people would do in my case, not really looking for the specifics (such and such BOV< such and such intercooler, such and such paintjob) but looking to the big chunks of money, where should I spend the big amounts of money, brands and specifics no matter.

I would really appreciate any ideas at this point, you guys can pm me instead of making this a big post, thanks

For that money, you can make an extremely stout SR, or a great RB. You will have more $$ if you buy the SR clip, and less left if you get the RB. At this point you need to decide exactly which way you want to go as far as end product. HP, Handling, overall performance and feasability come to mind... Weather you go SR or RB, the end product will be the same. A sick car. The only thing left up to you is how much do you want to spend to get there?

not that i know much, but from the very little fact and the wealth of oppinoin Rb rolls off of the toung a lot stronger, but as fas as a "toy" is concerned SR is probably the way to go, only because, as mentioned, there is more $$ to be had for other aspects of the car (exterior, interior and other non-engine related performance) so theres my .02

 

the rb would be really cool. just get that and keep it stock. i dont know of to many in tampa. actually i dont know of any. im sure there are some. but that stock would probably be really fun.

 

I would go with RB....but that's because i already tasted SR market...

Like many mentioned, RB stock or SR tweaked?
