Default Alex's 2JZ 180SX / FAB WORK BY HMS

SEE THE REST HERE: https://www.tamparacing.com/forums/h...jz-180sxb.html

Alex is now finishing up on the 180sx, And had a few things he wanted us to do.

- 3"SS Downpipe.
- 3"MS Downpipe-back Exhaust.
- Wastegate dumptube
- Intercooler system
- Etc.

Huge! front mount installed.

The downpipe was a tricky, because the steering is on the same side as exhaust not much room to work with. you can see the turbine housing @ the bottom of the image.

Anyway got it done: nothing is too hard for our trusty miller syncrowave 200

DP minus the o2, egt bungs & exhaust flange

DP installed , o2 bung in.

good clearance shot from underneath.

some more on it:

Ok well parts came in, so picking up where we left off.

The wastegate feed pipe from the manifold to the wastegate, was too long & flange was facing the wrong direction and had to be modified.

Modified & installed

While we wait for the dumptube material, we'll start on the intercooler piping.

From prior experience with this swap, We knew we would encounter a tight space between the radiator & throttle body so we went ahead & modified it. This time taking off, 1 15/16th" !!

Hotside:

Complete hotside piping:

The battery was already relocated to the hatch, so we cleaned up a bit & made use of the unused space.

Hotside installed:

Complete cold side piping:

Cold side installed:

Shot of both sides:

In a few early shot you might be able to see the radiator top side feed was on the left side of the car, but we decided to switch it out for a right side feed for a cleaner & simpler setup. So now we had to modify the water neck:

So moving onto the exhaust downpipe back:

Flex that bolts to dp.

Complete system: downpipe back!

Installed:

Also the customer requested we figure out a means of mounting his power steering pump, the reason being, he's no longer running a/c and on the 2j's the power steering use the a/c to mount......anyways.

We came up with a nifty little bracket.

Well we have come to the end of this build, We are happy the way things turned out & The customer was also pleased, we were able to fulfill all of His requests.

Before sending the car home , We Decided to revise the dumptube by extending an additional 4".
