if you dont care about the .7L more then just get a vvti 1uz 98 and up.
they make 310 and 320TQ, VVTI and coil on plug. I see these motors go for around 1500-2k I certainly will step up to vvti head soon enough for the shim under bucket in oem trim. The 1g heads will require custom length valves to run the shimless buckets(same size bucket as a jz or zz) and jz valve springs. I have already taken all the measurements and specs to make this happen when or if i decide to keep with the 1g heads. The plus side of the 1g heads is they are interchangeable right to left and kelford also offers a wide array of camshafts, where as the 2g vvti heads have no aftermarket support at all for cams and would require pricey regrind work to get bigger lift and duration if you plan on revving it. The 2g head has a 5.5mm valve stem diameter and the 1g has 6.0, so you could use the shim under bucket setup with a resizing of the ID of the retainers, and still use all oem parts.
cant give away all the hard work....lol

It would if you had a second car. I dont so I dont have the time to do the work if the car is going to be down for more than a day. I'm really glad you got everything squared away though. Maybe if my SR ever blows up I'll do this or if I get a different car or something.
