WTF a 240sx with a 4.3?
Sorry just sold the 5 speed, and honestly a T5 would be horrible, put the shifter too far forwards.
Doubt you want to put the $ into the T56 im getting rid of, though it'd be awesomesauce once together.

how much you lookin to get for the t56? and honestly i have no idea what kinda trany would be good for it. wanna help me find a good 5 speed one where the shifter isn't to far forward? about where the stock 240 shifter is is where id like it to be.
Nothing I know of would bolt up and put the shifter back there, other than trying to get an adapter plate to maybe fit a R154, or rb25 trans, which any of that is probably going to end up in the same price range as a T56.
As far as the one i've got, its a corvette one, and would need a GTO front plate ($300), and mainshaft ($300) to make it regular style, i'd let it go for $450, which would basically get you a triple cone camaro/firebird T56, worth around $1800-2000

Interesting to say the least, I happen to like (not love, however) the 4.3s, my father has a blazer that was abused by my brother horribly, that still runs like a clock, no motor work done, hasn't had a tune-up in 7-8 years, only a fuel pump
It's different, so I'm leaning towards liking it, I would change a few things, but roll with what you got.
On a side note: I wish 240s were offered with a relatively smaller displacement v6, like a 3.0, it's just a shame that the vgs are such an externally huge motor.

well thanks i guess and i do agree with the small v6 from the factory but i still like the torque this motor puts out compared to a vg30

If I were determined to do a V6, and not something huge, a 95-02 camaro 3800 would easily be had cheap, and using the T5 bellhousing with adapter plate you could run a T56, L67 internals could also be had cheap at LKQ, put you in good shape for boost. Pretty good aftermarket support for them, the only real downside is last I checked theres no aluminum heads for them available.

Actually installing the L67, would result in retardation, because the inlet would be in the firewall. Thus why I said use the F body version, the intake manifold faces forward like it's supposed to, and the accessorys work with said intake. Follow it up with a turbo kit, and you've got 400-500 HP, with little trouble.
