Hey man whoa I never seen this thread before.... well keep up the good work, it's come a long way so far, you're doing great. I love these cars and it's nice to see you're saving it. And I think this is a good idea - most people would have not considered taking it as a first project, but think about how much preparation you've now got for your next project

Good job.

=] Hell yeah, thank you.

Successfully ripped motor out yesterday! Removed all A/T shit from body as well.
Today's objectives are to clean out the engine bay and assemble final motor product. Still waiting on a few five-speed parts to finish the job, but all is moving forward very well and relatively quickly. Expecting the car to run by next week. Got pics and shit later.

Default Epic update.

So I definitely didn't get it running within that week.

I did get around to cleaning the engine bay a little and dropping the motor in on the same day. What caused me problems later were some plugs I had to rewire. After reconnecting everything(I thought) and trying to start the motor, I blew a pretty major fuse, killed my battery, fried another alternator, and I'm pretty sure I caused a good amount of damage to my starter. Unfortunately, I fucked up on rewiring the plug that was for the alternator. That and a few loose grounds lead to all these problems. But I tracked them down and everything electrical is in good order, for the most part.
My starter's gone bad, and as a result, the starter teeth click like crazy on the flywheel, the crank is weak, and the transmission rattles a bit. I got the starter to work using the screwdriver trick, and my motor finally turned on for the first time. I heard an intense rattling, and it got pretty warm pretty quickly, all the way to the positive battery terminal. When I turned it off, I heard the starter still cranking. After that, I unplugged the starter completely and tried to push start it. It worked until the tranny started rattling hard and I just turned the car off.

Something is grinding against something, and it's making the car difficult to push. This is my main problem at the moment. I'm gonna try and work with it today.

Sweet driveway.

Threw the rod hard...

Oil leaks are a pain.

Homies helpin' out and shit. Thanks!

Got my EGR block plate.

Ready to be dropped in.

Clutch pedal! We ended up cutting a piece of my brake pedal off later on.

Master.

Just finished putting everything back together (got rid of stock radiator for s13 Koyo too).

Progress has been made. Still troubleshooting.
Any advice is welcome. All the help I've received so far is much appreciated.
Thanks for reading!

Nice man. I remember seeing this everyday at USF. I always wondered if the owner was into 240s or just another random person with an s14 lol

Good luck dood.

I drove the car yesterday. Push started it again and drove it down the street and back. I think my problem is in the clutch. It seems to have trouble disengaging, but I'm not sure if it's a lack of hydraulic pressure, or if it's a bad bearing.
For a second, black smoke came out of the shifter. Sparks flew when fourth gear grinded. And the whole transmission still shakes a bit when I shift to neutral. I have to pump the clutch a few times to get it to stop.
At least I've sort of narrowed down the area where my problem is. Gonna keep working as I have. This thing is almost completely ready to hit the streets. ^^

well for one, how can you have a stock "e-fan" when for one, its not electric, and you can clearly see it tied with a belt to turn it, no wires. second, whoever destroyed that beautiful car is a piece of shit. third, please dont make this car into a rice burner, cracked up body piece of crap drift mobile. and last but not least, was that motor purchased from a junkyard and swapped in there?

Hahaha. Rome wasn't made by kids either.
Original motor was a junker, the block I just swapped in was found on TR along with the tranny.
