exhaust question

Default exhaust question

would it be worth it to take it off at the down pipe and run an open down pipe? i am going to have exhaust but i was wondering if id get any performance by removing it now- thanx

if it's stock exhaust, yes, you would get a lot better spool and more power

I ran with a broken flex section for a while so that was basically like open downpipe. While im sure i would have gained some MPH at the track. it didnt "feel" faster on the street. Not to mention that it was obnoxiously loud. I really didnt like it. However, this was with a 3" exhaust, so you may notice more of a difference than i did.

yea, with me doing my home depot mods on my stock down pipe, i cut off .2, just wish i had ran it one more time before i sold it, i know i coulda raped a 13.7 out of it. i just know it.

depending on what exaust system you have now.....You will in general loose power in the bottom end and gain power in the top end.
I have ran my car one night on a open downpipe..and I got a nice headake to prove it...it was annoying as hell..but the turbo sounded awesome

i think im gonna just do it and see i do plan on getting exhaust soon but iv got a few parts coming in and figure the restrective stock exhaust should go- thank you all for the input

I had it off for a day, and loved the turbo spooling, but i was afraid of getting pulled over welps....

I run Straight down pipe all the time and i will never by an exahaust.....too much retrictions.. you know what i mean!!!!
