i need dsm info quick
i have a 94 gst 5 speed.
the turbo coolent line sprung a leak so i changed it but when i was changing it i broke the radiator fan switch. so i went to the mitsubishi dealership and bought a new one. i installed it and turned my car on and let it warm up and the temp gauge just goes right past the middle part and looks like its going to overheat, then i shut it off. i have absolutly no idea. im asking for help because this might have happend to someone else and they might know what to do. please help and thanks fellow dsmers.
thanks from mike

IF HE JUMPERS THE RELAY IT WILL OVER COOL THE ENGINE. The fuel maps in his ECU will cause timing to retard like crazy if the engine is running too cool. AFAIK, on a 1g (I know you're 2g) the timing will retard almost ten degrees if coolant temp is significantly too low.
you'll lose some hp for a while, but you wont hurt anything... you CAN jumper it until you can find the REAL solution.

funny, because both of my fans are hardwired to come on with the ignition, and I have no timing problems to speak of.
seeing 18-24 degrees timing at wot on a 90.
I have plenty of logs to prove it, what's your e-mail? I took the liberty of logging coolant temps, intake temps and timing so you have plenty of variables to compare against.

i hard wired it to make sure it was the relay so i got a new relay and that didn't fix it but now they work so don't ask me my dsm has a mind of its own. but i need to fix it for real not just hope it works. but if you have any more ideasill take them. thanks
