Default How To Tell?

I LIKE THE BODY STYLE OF A 92-UP BUT I DONT WANT A 7 BOLT FLY BECAUSE OF THE PROBLEMS HALF THE 92'S ARE 6 AND HALF ARE 7 HOW DO I TELL FROM LOOKING AT IT?

oil pan is different. you would have to physically see the two to know what you are looking for though. not going to attempt to explain it over the internet. go to vfaq.com

the brakes are smaller on the 6bolt, but thats just awd i believe. and what is different about the body style...besides the headlights...

The early 92s can have big brakes, 6bolt engine, and the 4bolt rear end.


headlights, taillights, bumpers and spoilers are different.

I would be MOST concerned with which engine is in it.

since that is the most expensive thing to change later on.

secondly which rear is in it, then the brakes. ( in order of expense and difficulty of finding in good shape.)

headlights, taillights, bumpers and spoilers are different.
in my experience if it has big brakes. then its a 7 bolt, if they are the small ones then its a 6 bolt. ive seen this many times over and havent found a 92 to prove me wrong yet. all the 92s are 4 bolt rears. the brakes will cost ya anywhere from 100-200 junkyard, then get rotors cut and new pads. simple.
