From what I've heard a majority of them will crack eventually near the flanges, you'll notice small supports welded on at the flanges to help prevent this. Its my understanding the the continous expansion and contraction of the ss tubing when it gets hot and then cooled over a period of time is largely where the cracks come from. Once the header is welded together the tubes are pretty much rigid to where they are going to be which means that after a period of time stress cracks will begin to occur from the constant confined expansion from heat and contraction when cooled, the point of most strain will be the main points of confinement and load which would be around the flanges.
