Carbon Fiber intake tube
My roommate used to have a 91 talon awd and just recently
bought a 92 gs-t. he's making carbon fiber intake tubes (without the ripples of the stock intake tube and slightly bigger in diameter up until the turbo inlet where it keeps the stock size, its really small i dont remember a 14b inlet size, but would anyone be interested in getting one, because he might make more if anyone on here or orldsm shows interest, hes got 2 molds right now, hopefully when i get back to orlando in january he will have them done. we're going to have some dyno numbers as well so when theyre done ill post up some pictures and numbers to see how much of a gain it is over stock.
i have no idea on pricing either. thats his call he knows the comparable intakes around.

ps- hope this isnt commercial hes not a business but just gauging interest

this might sound dumb, but isnt carbon fiber not a good thing to use for parts in an engine bay? i mean i would think it would break somewhat easy IMO. i think the last thing anyone wants is pieces of carbon fiber going into the turbo. you say he isnt commercial but do you know what kind of pressure drop there is? and also how big is the opening on the MAS side?

its still stock mafs opening and stock diameter at the turbo inlet, its just gets rid of the ripples the stock rubber tube has and is slightly bigger in diameter in that area.
carbon fiber is used in alot of intakes and we already have pieces that we have beaten with bats and jumped on and they do not break its quite amazing slamming doors on flat panels.
please enlighten me on how a pressure drop is associated with the intake which is non pressurized (but has vacuum)

because atmospheric pressure is 14.7(since were almost sea level), in turn there will be some drop going through the intake into the compressor inlet. i was just curious as to how much of a drop there would be, i believe there is 3.2 drop through the stock intake.
