Brent Rau - OSOFAST Eclipse

For any of you that remember his AWD, this is his new RWD. Not a full tube chassis. Will run in Modified/Outlaw classes.

Thats about as close to a full tube chassis as you can get. Its been front halved and back halved at least.

What, do you make the rules in the IDRC now? How about the NHRA? Front and back halved means not a full tube chassis. If you don't know the terms, don't speak about them.

IDRCs outlaw clas and NHRAs Modified class are for Full tube frame FWDs and Back Halved or 3/4 chassis RWD and AWDs. Must have Import body with functioning doors. the OSOFAST Eclipse fits these guidelines.

You dont make the rules.

Dude, calm down, I wasn't making fun of what you said, nor did I say I make the rules. What I DID say is that car has at least been front halved and back halved and if that fits into the rules as not being a full tube frame, good for him, but its a joke. The only thing not making that car a full tube frame is semantics. It happens with Mustangs too, but they are a bit more subtle (keeping stock strut towers even though they are now welded to the front down tubes of the cage and house aftermarket struts)

I see what you're saying.

It goes both ways though. You can push the limits of the rules if you try hard, but, you can also break them really easy.

Some people innocently put themselves into a class they dont belong in by making a simple modification to the firewall or floor pan.

Next thing you know you'll be telling me that there is a Mustang with relocated shock towers and it's fast too....
