lol almost same thing happend to me. well i did a quick 0-100mph run, drove around like 20 more miles not beating on it and then it just died. threw a rod through the side of the block and cracked the crank in half. sad thing is i sprayed a little ether in the intake and it started right up and idled...kinda

 

looks to me as if it wanted to go for a walk. did you forget the leash......
