My 1G is nearing completion and I need to decide where to mount my gauges. Now one thing to keep in mine is I have evoscan for tuning and it provides a nice set of gauges. I am going to install a car puter that I hook up to either a dual din screen or flip up screen. But this is mainly for tuning on the fly and datalogs without the need to carry an extra laptop.

I have WB, Boost, Oil pressure, currently. I plan to go with tranny temp (since im an auto). Im at a loss where to place the gauges. I know the A pillar is the most common but I wanted to take the path less traveled. I have a couple boost gauges so I also was thinking about the passanger being able to see some stuff also. To bad we do not have HUD like the Z06 has.

Can you guys post some pics of your gauges and their installed locations? TIA..

 

you should talk to slowboy. he made a housing to go under his radio and he has his safc and wideband in it.

and i don't know where the cig lighters are in the 1st gens but in my 2 g i drilled mine out for a gauge. i have my WB in there now

 

sorry for the huge as picture that probably isn't even helpfull lol. like i said. don't know where the cig light is in the 1st gen.

i know they also sell gauge pods for the first gen that replaces the center vents.

i believe evilgst has it done

ya i know dude lol. now that i have the cluster pod tho i am gonna relocated the aem. but for all the more i did with my car it worked lol. i'm gonna put a less important guage where the aem is. maybe volts.

 

I need my 12v for my tire pump when I get a flat. I have no spare or jack..lol.

If you take care installing, these can look pretty nice imo. You can make shrouds for the gauges to match..I would but I dont want to cut up my dash. Also I dont have enough gauges lol.

Check slowboyracing, had their center air vent triple pod in my 1g. Looked nice and clean
