ok. so first we found my coil fried and i was running on 2 cylinders, with a working coil however, my wideband is saying i'm idling around 14.4-14.8. My exhaust still smell rich as hell. No the wideband O2 isn't bad. I picked it up brand spankin new. My spark advance was up to about 24 so was pulled down to 12 and it's staying there pretty good. cars just not making sense tho with the tune. one day is one issue and the next day we're 10 steps in a differant direction. so tomorrow i pick up my external voltage regulator and hoefully with the alternator hooked up and a CONSTANT voltage throughout the whole system, alot of my issues can be eliminated....

it's true tho dude. neither you, or jay have had a car be this hard to tune.

 

tuning your cars fuel table is like teaching a blind child to target shoot with buck shot.

Wow man....you really need a voltage regulator. Its not an option. Think about how wacky a car will run on a low battery. How about when the voltage is 150% what it should be? You're just asking for more issues. The first thing you need to do when attempting to tune a car is ti fix ALL known problems first.

Also, as far as tuning...isn't this just a stock(ish) setup? Can't you find a stock fuel and timing map and just copy it over?

 

well i'm holding the regulator in my hand, just picked it up lol. and the battery has been charging all night so we can start with a fully charged battery and keep it that way with te regulator. and we have a base map, but came across some unknown issues, thanks to my neighbor stopping by lol. we've fixed every KNOWN issue now and are gonna try again. biggest issue i'm having now iis that advance wont warranty my fucking coil pack that is only 2 months old because whoever rang me up for the order forgot to take down my phone number and they can't varify my warranty on it....fucking sucks...

but i big issue we are having with the fuel tables and shit is that we've had trouble finding maps that aren't modified, we have one from megasquirt for a stock 420 we've been using tho.

 

got the regulator on and voltage is staying constant and we had a great improvment but only got 2 runs in before the rain and i have a leaky sunroof, no wipers, and no ac lol
