Default New/Rebuilt Engine Break in Methods

Throw some ideas at me. I'm thinking of trying this:
Break In Secrets--How To Break In New Motorcycle and Car Engines For More Power

Does it work? What's my safest bet? Need some answers.. Newb to breaking in engines.

I broke the Spyder in Darkside style. I got out on the road, up to 3rd gear then ran it from 3,000 rpms up to 5,000 rpms, then let it engine brake (no brakes just let off the gas) back down to 3,000 rpms. I did that every chance i got, never above 5,000 rpms for the 1st 500 miles and never a constant speed/rshared_pm (no 3,000 rshared_pm cruise, always varying the rpms by shifting up and down).
