Well my tranny ws acting up about a week ago and i parked the car. Its been really pissing me off cause it only has 4500 miles on it and the company that built it will not cover it....

So needless to say i pulled the tranny on wends and tore it down this morning...... to find that the fluid smelt badly burnt but was still cherry red. the shift disc that controls 1st and reverse was perfect (was having trouble with these 2 gears) i cleaned the tranny completely out and put it back together. refilled it with mitsu auto tranny fluid and 3 quarts of royal purple.

Well tranny shift great again..... dosnt clunk into gears but....... reverse goes in fine but if i give it gas it will slip and slip and slip and slip..... but just puting it into gear and lightly touching the gas its like new...... anyone got any ideas? car shifts and drives like it did when i first picked the car up.

Was gonna post it back forsale after i drive it for 3 days to make sure everything is good. starting price at 3500 if the problem gets worse ill work the price.

Do you think maybe something is wrong with your reverse gear? I dont know what kind of eclipse you have or if most the the internal tranny parts are universal but I have my old tranny that is pretty much tore apart with reverse in it that worked fine when i had that tranny in.

 

His is an auto. Have u tried running it till its hot, checked the lvl? Did you replace the filter when you tore it down? Have you tried running with out the royal? I know i have to use GL-4 ONLY in my TRE 5 speed tranny, because the GL-4/5 will eat my brass syncros. IO dont know a whole lot about the autos, but everytime i have problems with an auto its either fluid,filter, or the tranny is shot. Concidering yours has like 4500 miles on it i am thinking fluid or filter.
