Default greddy type-s stripped.

I have been searching for some info on how to fix a stripped greddy type-s bov. The threads where the adjustment screw goes in are toasted. So i removed the cap from the bov and wondering what size i can tap the threads with. currently it was made for M6x1.0 . what would be the best size tap for it? also I was reading about the spring mod for it as well.. Removing the smaller spring and leaving in only the larger spring. Anybody on here tried this before?
