What are tuning with and are you monitoring knock? what fuel upgrades do you have to the fuel system? how much boost were you running at the time??

there are many reasons why a head gasket can blow, we need more info on your car before we can make an assessment.
Sometimes just the head gasket being old can cause it to blow.

your setup sounds pretty mild, it could have just been a old head gasket. when my head gasket blew I did not have any smoke out the exhaust either.
Are you going to be replacing the head gasket yourself?? I have always used felpro gasket with ARP studs. I like the idea of a $30 head gasket going out instead of a rod out the motor if something were to go wrong.
