Default Brake Question

Do late model 1G GSX's (93-94) come with 2 piston calipers? I am pretty sure they do. And if they do are they the same as 2G GSX front calipers?

I have GSX calipers I'm putting on my car but am running into a problem. The banjo bolt/eyebolt whatever you wanna call it bottoms out inside the AWD caliper before the brake line gets tight against the caliper. Its like the bolt is too long, yet it works fine on my FWD calipers...

After talking to Mitsu, I found out that the banjo bolt for the AWD calipers and the FWD calipers is the same, so i am thoroughly confused as to what could be the problem.

Any help would be nice.

I believe 1G dual piston calipers used the 3KGT style fitting - it has a screw in brake line as opposed to the banjo bolt. If you have that style caliper the banjo bolt I believe could be the right pitch but perform in the manner you are describing as the thread-in brake line was not nearly as deep as the female hole for the banjo bolt.

I have run across inconsistencies between the years so it is not all-inclusive.

When looking into the hole on the caliper, is it straight thread or tapered (pipe thread looking)?

It is not a 3KGT style fitting, the banjo bolt goes through the end of the brake line (or fitting on the line) and pulls it tight against the caliper. Idk about the threads, they look like normal threads to me lol.

I can have a pic up in like 5 minutes, minus a mock up of the line with banjo bolt b/c its still on my car.

Seems like the way your explaining that there's a gap between the banjo bolt and the brake line correct? Are you using the crush washers? I never messed with brakes but on my 2g everything that used a banjo bolt included 2 copper crush washers.

I have all the washers that were on my FWD calipers, and the print out I got at the dealer show the same banjo/washers I already have...I am stumped.

Are you using the bolt from the FWD brake line or from the AWD one? You probably need the AWD ones. Or maybe the AWD line is just different, even though it uses the same bolt as the FWD one.

lines, bolts, and washers are the same on AWD/FWD, hence my big dilemma...
