Default Power steering removal question

When removing the power steering do you have to get a manual rack or is it just as simple as disconnecting the system and capping off the holes? I think i remember hearing that you can't use a power steering rack without eventually damaging it if the power steering pump is not hooked up.

search dsmtuners... some guy on there did a "conversion"

it involved cutting some lines, welding some holes, and changing the oil to grease.

all you do is remove the pump, and loop the 2 holes on the rack. it will work fine. 2g manual racks are like finding a needle in a haystack.

Driving a car around with a non power steering rack isnt bad at all. I actualy prefer it. Seems to give better road feed back than a power rack and its lighter with no draw on the motor. But driving a car with a power steering rack that just doesnt work sucks.

I also prefer non-power steering, my civic was without power steering and i loved it. So should I seek out a non-power steering rack or just remove the seals from mine?

I would find a non power rack. Changing the seals won't change the gear ratio difference between a power and manual rack.
