found a 90 gsx with 81k miles. has nitrous hook up, front mount, 3" exhaust, intake and stock turbo. needs new rear main. guy is asking 2500. is that good? i don't know much on pricing 1g's so i figured i'd ask you guys

 

i would say its over priced, but its hard to say without seeing pics....

but from what you said i would say 1500 max, and that's if it ONLY needs a new rear main seal.

 

i wasn't too sure since it's awd. but like i said, i don't know how much 1g's are worth. i've gotta follow all the nitrous lines to see if he was spraying wet or dry. i just know it's a 6 bolt and doesn't seem to have had any engine work.

Deff a clean 1g pice is alil high for the year i think, also with those mods and being the car does run 2k max.

 

the car is clean but im gonna still say 1500, only because theres a good chance the car has been ragged on and because of the rear main seal.

 

i get what you're saying. i'm gonna go check it out tomorrow since i'm off and see what's up with it. if i end up getting i'll post some pics

 

first, it is not that rare, second, the spedo sensor is very easy to break if you dont know what you are doing when you might have to pull the tranny, being a "mechanic" he should have put in more info as fair as oil changes and regular care if it was going to be his "keeper", and he says "it runs and drives!" he did not say it runs and drives great or good or anything, that tells me that he is saying, yeah it runs and drives until you get it out of my driveway and he dont care,. go and meet him and take it for a drive, make sure the spedo works, if it does then check to see if the sensor looks new, they are the same for the mph gauge working as the miles turning. what i mean is that if it really has that low of miles then the rear main should not have gone out unless there is some thing else wrong with the trans shaft or the crank shaft, like something to do with the bearings,.
even still, like said before, 1500, it is still a 20 year old car.

when i called him he said that he's only had it for a couple weeks and that he just bought it to sell it. talking to him i knew he didn't know what the hell he was talking about. he just keeps saying i'm a mechanic, i'm a mechanic. he barely knows what's on the car. but i just got off work so i'm just gonna stay up and look at it in a couple hours.

 

Funny, by reading the ad you wouldn't think he bought it just to sell,I mean how many people buy the first dsm for resale to make profit, really? I think your possibly looking to buy a disaster. Stay away

 

i checked it out. it was a shit pile. the guy told me it doesn't smoke and then when i was riding in it i saw smoke in the rear view mirror. then he said it shifted smooth when i saw him trying to jam it into gear. the guy was a total moron. i would have offered him 1k if that but he thinks the car is well worth 2500 because someone said they go for 3k but there's none for sale.
oh and btw, he's a mechanic lol. he said that i don't know how many times even though the car was at the shop he works at.
