You can. You will need to get a threaded fitting that will screw into your spark plug opening and use an air compressor w a regulator and hose to the fitting to get the cylinders under air pressure to hold the valve from falling into the cylinder. Depending on the motor you have, if its a 4G63, you will need a custom valve spring compressor and not your ordinary one from an auto parts place. I would recommend thinking about getting your hands on that first.

+1 and for the fitting get a compression tester and pull the valve out of the end and screw it into the spark plug hole and hook your compressor to that. You shouldnt need a regulator though. The compressor dosnt have enough pressure to hurt anything but, as stated you need to find the spring compressor or make one.

Look, you need to find a valve spring compressor that will work for the 4G63 head first. There is one that will bolt to the head and you can turn a compressor that has an opening for the keepers. Talk to TR shop "IllegalModz" Seth there has a great valve spring compressor for that head. Get a comp tester and plug it into an air hose and a compressor as stated. Its not that simple, but its not very hard at all. If you are not confident, you WILL NEED to have someone of experience do the job.

will I'm having a motor built but i don't want to use that head if all this head is a set of valve seals..

will let me tell you what is going on I'm having smoke come out of my tail pipe and from what i have found out it is the valve seals or the turbo is going bad and with it being a stock turbo and my car is a 96 so it might be the stock turbo for this car but since the valve seals are cheap i would like to do that as will..

AutoModz
Ask for Seth

I would just have someone do it for you. No offense and don't take this wrong but you seem like you haven't done this job before and I would highly recommend someone else do it if the head is on the block. That method is definitely harder than it would be with just the head.
