Default 420a header help

when i bought my 95 rs, it came with some headers in the back and dude that sold it too me said that all it needed was a flange welded onto it. I have the motor completely out of my car now and i have compared the headers to the stock manifold. The headers are longer and if a flange is welded on then it wont line up correctly with the down pipe. From the small amount of research i have done i think i have a cup ball joint or something like that, i just dont see how to connect it to the down pipe, any suggestion?

as you can see the header is significantly longer than the stock manifold

here is the end of the header vs the end of the DP, i dont see how it to connect them

there is alot of shit attached to the DP and most of the bolts attaching everything are ridiculously rusted

yea you need to find a welder.... from your pictures it looks like you would have to cut your downpipe a little and the best way to do it would be buy a flange to weld on the header going to down pipe so you can take it out easier in the future...re use the down pipe flange just drop it a coulple inches so headers will fit....or much easier would be to get it welded as one whole piece and like i said it will be more difficult to take out in future.

make sure flanges are in the same position or you will never get bolts through them

I picked up a Greddy header from the junkyard and I had a downpipe welded for it at Rainbow Muffler. Been on nearly 6 months and not one problem with it. Very clean, professional welds too.
