Default stock or not stock

the other day by mistake i over turned my manual boost controler. My talon over boosted to 30psi and did not brake on premium gas 91 octane... My tuner tells me that it may have after market pistons and rods.. How can i find out other then taking the head of the block....

93 talon fwd

How bad did you overboost, What PSI do you normally run? How long was the pull? How many times did you do a 30psi pull?

stock or aftermarket u should be able to make upto 500-550whp, so dont worrie about it to much... crank the boost with higher oct fuel and a good tune.

other way to check is to use a borascope. You can go in the oil pan plug hole and in the spark plug holes

Easiest way right here.

Just because you overboosted once and it didnt blow, it doesnt mean right off the bat you have pistons/rods. Anything can blow up when something like that happens, even with aftermarket rods/pistons. Just be careful that it doesnt happen too often. You may have just gotten lucky.

I would put my money on stock parts. no one sells a car without informing new owner the engine has built internals. stock engines can handle momentary over boost. and forged internals only buy a few seconds of safety when detonation occurs.
