i have a 97 rs eclipse and it wont shift into 3rd or higher gears and its an auto any ideas? shifts in first and second just fine. any help is appreciated.

no! it will shift from 1st to 2nd but wont hit 3rd or higher

 

Well from working at a shop if people with auto's dont do tranny flushes often it starts to do things like that.

 

I've done that a couple times when I was racing and all I would have to do to fix it was pull over to the side of the road and turn it off, wait a couple seconds, turn it back on, and it would shift fine after that.

 

ya see mine wont come out of it! i think it hates me! or its new paint one of the 2.

 

You better get on craigs list and do some digging... ebay aint worth squat these days... if you need a new tranny... let me know I can find one for you.

 

You can pick a transmission up at LKQ for fairly cheap too. I think they let them go for like $100

 

might be a tcu.... is the cel on?

 

only light that is on is an SRS light dont know what that is.
