Default Anyone done a transfer case in an evo?

I need to do mine. I had my T-case fluid changed, and the shop put the wrong fluid in. My T-case went to shit. I bought a used one, but then decided to buy a new one.

How long should I expect it to take to change it?

Aside from the "death whine" some evo owners talk about, what were the signs of a bad t-case? I think mine might be going.

^multiple people told me its not hard. Ive done most all of my installs anyhow. But I've never done a T-case in an Evo.

Too bad my lifts wont be in for a few weeks, so maybe I'll hire someone.

It whines alot. Thats about it lol. Its not too bad, but its enough to worry me. Keep that fluid fresh! And make sure its the right stuff

removing the t-case on a dsm is easy. it's only 5 bolts but i don't know how different it is on an evo.

I bought a new one off e-bay. was surprised to find it needed to be reshimmed straight from factory. very likely why they die prematurely. the shimming is too tight and may be causing excess heat.

I have some very nice low mile cases that are properly shimmed if anyone is needing one. (shameless plug)
