Default Do automatic DSM 4G63's get crankwalk?

Luckily my 95 GST (5 speed) with around 90,000 miles has'nt given me this headache. I would'nt think so but, I only ask out of curiosity and I was'nt able to find the answer. As always thanks.

It's true, but 5 speed are more likely to because of the pressure the clutch puts on the crank. Really, any car can crankwalk, there is always slight bit of sideways movement going on

My guess is the cases of crankwlk in auto are likely from engine transplants that started in 5 speed cars. the torque converter does apply some pressure to the thrust. so it is possible to get it in an auto car, but highly unlikely.

All engines have a thrust load when operating, 5 speeds just have more due to clutch pressure.

i agree that its f***ed up but thats what you got into when you bought into DSM =D get a 1g engine for your eclipse. you can find them for a reasonable price. they are less susceptible to crank walk. in the 2g engines sometimes the crank shafts wernt built correctly and on other engines the bearings were wrong. Hope this helps =D
