So last year as soon as summer came around my AC compressor decided it wanted to go. Blew the fuse, wouldn't charge, compressor was done. Had to replace it.

Well, the AC has periodically gone out when its wet outside, I assumed from the belt getting wet since South Tampa is typically flooded. Until this past month when it started going out when it was dry outside. Usually at highway speeds.

This week it went out again. blew the fuse, won't charge, gotta replace the compressor again.

Just. WTF. Seriously.

 

When you get your compressor changed or if you are doing it yourself. Are you self charging it? or taken to a shop with a proper AC machine. Also last time did you change the receiver dryer and the orifice tube as well? Those other two items if not replaced should be changed out with the compressor for good measure, both are cheap. Also if its overcharged you could be overworking the compressor if your just doing this yourself and not using a machine, by now the system could be full of alot of AC oil and just pushing the compressor hard.

 

sometimes metal goes into system when old compressor dies. if you dont get it out with proper flush it will take out new one. i think I have a compressor for that car. PM me if you need it.
