I know that the 2.0L DOHC (4g63?) will fit into colts and mirages with no problems. What about those minivans though? I dont even know what they are called but the nose and headlights look just like a colt. Could some sick individual (like myself) make a twin cam 2.0 turbo mini?
I think what youre talking about is still a colt. Its called the colt vista. Dont know about the swap I would think the only issue would be finding the right axles and of course the pita wiring and fuel which you have to do for the swap into any colt.

Is a swap into a colt really that bad? I am really testing my self discipline by telling myself No Jeff you dont need to build one!

Had a friend several years ago that drove a tan one rev it to redline and drop the clutch it still bogged! But the rear seats rock you could fold the middle seats flat and recline the rear seats like cruising in a futon!

Jeff. Find yourself a Mitsubishi Expo with the 2.4 in it. Swap the crank into a 4G63 and add custom pistons. Now you have a 2.4 liter 16 valve turbo. Swap in an Eclipse wiring harness and ECU. Splice about 8 wires and go drive your turbo minivan around.

Whats the matter jeff is a spirit not enough of a sleeper for you?? Im sure ryan (colt-e) could give you info on a normal 4g63 colt swap.

No thats not it at all! I love the Spirit! I just would love to step into the world of Volumetric Efficiency!! (Read: 4g63)
If only it was simple to drop an entire 4g63 w/ trans into a spirit. But EVERYTHING would need to be fabbed as my engine is on the Pass side trans on Driver side.
The mitsy 2.4 crank goes right into a 4g63 block? Stock rods work but you need pistons with a higher pin? Hmm.. that may be fun!! Ross makes custom pistons for cheap too relatively speaking.
I dont really want a turbo mini.. lol dodge has those already. As hillarious as those are to drive I have to maintain a little cool factor.
Those colts are just cool as shit though. Like a little civic hatch without the played out honda name on it. And with a 4g63 it has lots of fun factor could have a very high potential!
I met ryan when his colt broke down on the Skyway after the 1st non-rain out 1320. Thanks though. Hes a cool guy and I think thats what got me REALLY thinking about building one. Just looking over his car on the bridge for those few hours really got me drolling!
