Default fmic help

on a stock 97gst there is a black plastic guard in the grill, as well as these 2 metal poles that go back into the engine...what are their purposes...and will it cause any problems with installation??

the metal pieces that the crash guard. most likely you will have to remove it. unless its a very small intercooler. i had to remove it on mine

its a starion intercooler...idk any measurements....but it looks to b a pretty decent size...

I removed mine and I cut out the black plastic guard. Look at the pic in my sig.

It sounds like it, Dane. I hope everyone knows what a crash bumper is

You're talking about the metal tube (about a half inch across) that runs from the drivers side towards the passengers side then does a U-turn back into the engine bay? Thats the power steering cooler...

Search dsmtalk and dsmtuners about it and decide for yourself if removing it will cause problems. I thought it should be ok, so I just unhooked the metal line from the ps reservoir and looped the rubber line.

Make sure you bleed the power steering!!!
