Default HID Question

this may seem like a newb question, but when installing HID's on a DSM (2nd Gen), is there anything special i need to do to get them to work?

i installed a brand new set of HID's tonight (plug and play) simple install took me about 30mins, when i turned the lights on the lows (9006) don't work at all. i thought i may have blew a fews so i put the old bulb back in and it worked fine, the turn signal works, the high beam works, but the 9006 HID will not work for some reason.

nothing is wired wrong, cuzz like i said its a simple plug and play set-up so you really can't screw something up, i just wanted to check to see if there was something that i need to do for the lights to work on a DSM.

if it matters the HID's are a 55w 10k bulb/ballast

I had to splice the wires on mine...sometimes they don't work when you just plug it in, but sometimes they do

problem solved, apparently there is a polarity issue when you hook up the wire running from the bulb to the ballast....you have to basically turn the wire around and hook it up "backwards"

see step 6-8 for details of what i mean

I had to splice them because the wires were already spliced due to the aftermarket housings lol

the aftermarket housing you refer to....is that something similar to the blacked out headlights with halo's that are sold on ebay???

or something different....you would think stuff like headlights and taillights would be plug and play if ur buying lights for a specific car
