ps any one do it with an AFC and does ne one have an afc forsale??

 

I have done it on early evo as well. Doesnt work as well with small injectors. needs the 720s like dario had.

 

I would stay away from using a AFC to dial in a Evo8 maf, they are good for small corrections on the fly. using it for large corrections might give you to much timing.

 

Evo8 works well, me and a friend ran them before on our 1gs.

If you can get something to properly dial in the maf ( i.e. dsmlink, chip) then it will work great. Wiring should be the same as for your stock 2g mas.

 

what size turbo were u using on the setup ?? and what size injector ... i would do the adjustable FPR also

 

like todd said with a safc anything over 680cc injectors wount work.

 

Darios car had no afc. Just the evo mass and 720cc injectors. Car ran extremely well. made 335hp on the dyno at 21psi. It was running very close to factory like a/f . An afc would have worked very well to lean it out a bit. Afc isnt todays best tuning tool. There are far better options. But there was a time when it was the only thing available. Trick to using them is getting the ecu to give the right timing for the boost you want to run. The blue car was fastest when all I had was afc and chipped ecu. was working quite well.

 

That being said what injectors would have to be run with a evo maf on a 1g?720's also?

 

the car ran great for what was done to it ... i dont see my self wasting money on dsm link if im going to waste that much money ill just buy AEM again and use it lol ... im just trying to get ideas right now i might have dave install a afc/evo maf and just tune it for the stock turbo ... and when im ready to upgrade ill go get t tuned down here in texas

 

and would 680's of been a better choice of injector for dario ?? i know we had all talked about that but not sure if he ever tried it or what
