Angry My AWD dsm got towed - Enter

Ok so I parked at my friends college campus dorms ( HCC dalemabry)yesterday coming by to visit and even went inside to get a 24parking permit. All the visitor spots were taken and I couldnt park across the street, so I parked in the very next space to the last visitor spot and put my parking pass on the window.

Come out of his house 2 hours later or so and my car is ####ing gone.
Now at this point im ready to stab the shit out of someone.
Well I call the tow company and I need ####ing 156 dollars out of my pocket that I dont have to get my car out. I asked them how the car was towed and asked was it flatbedded because its AWD and the guy said yea and he went blabbing on with his tow truck drivers have x amount of years experience they know how to tow.

Well I feel like an idiot because now I think he's just saying that to cover his ass, I should have pressed him harder about how it was towed before revealing to him it was AWD in case he really didnt know that.
And he kept saying it came in on a flatbed, i told him by the way that it was parked they wouldnt have been able to get a flatbed in the campus at the angle I parked. I also had my ebrake up if that helps any...

Then he said they used the regular tow truck to pick it up and move it so they could use the flatbed. I dont know how far they could've dragged it with 2wheels on the ground or what, IF they even really used a flatbed at all. The security guard at HCC was some old guy but he didnt remember seeing a flatbed but I dont feel he was a reliable source of info either.

So now what do I do, what would happen to my drivetrain if they didnt use a flatbed and they towed it with 2 wheels on the ground, even if for a short amount of time. Would it be easily obvious to me when I get in my car and drive off? Or would it drive normal but Id just have horrible wear and tear or an improperly working VC? If the shits Fu##ed up in any way I want to take them to court and try to get them to cover any and all damages...

I was also told to just drive it hard and see if its damaged or driving funny or making weird noises but I cant even do that since my clutch is messed up. If I go in boost at all it starts slipping I was about to order a new clutch setup for it this week with my last little scraping of money. The car was only driveable to were I can get to and from work/school and daily commutes without seeing any boost.

So If the guy is lieing and they really didnt tow it correctly, Id rather it to be completely obviously f*cked up than to be half working were its hard to tell.

im sorry to hear this man you've had some bad luck lately! best bet is to do what you said drive it a little see how it feels look under car check for any visible damage first! if there is damage report to police and let towing comp. know you will be taking them to court for damages caused by the improper towing! I'd be damned if that security gaurd didnt know! he would have been the one to call it in 9 times outta 10 tow trucks just dont sit on property to wait for a tow they are called! so yeah fuck him! keep us udated! good luck man let me know if ya need help wit anything!

Damn dude, sorry to read this, I think if they towed it with two wheels on the ground it would defenatly break the vc and center diff. Whats even worse is that the car would have given them plenty of warning before it broke. What happens is that while the rear wheels turn it tries to turn the front wheels and not being able to do so would cause the car to hop skip and jump around on the road ultimatly causing drag on the truck. There is no way for a tow truck driver to not know that something is wrong. So if your car is broken, it was done intentionally through the tow truck driver not caring.

I say put 4 jackstands under it, put it in gear, and see what happens.

try getting them for atleast the clutch so its not coming out of your pocket... explain to them that you had left it in gear witht he ebrake engaged... by the towing it or even moving it, it would mess up a clutch get in drive it and get the clutch nice and hot so it slips go back to the tow yard have the owner of the place ride with you and show him what it does... make sure to get it hot as hell before he rides that way you dont have to get into boost when he is riding... therefore saving you money on buying you a new clutch and also costing them money for there fup....

The only problem with that is if they know anything about cars they will fight that accusation. Also most tow truck drivers pick locks and most likely would have taken the car out of gear when they released the e-brake. That way the car wouldn't have ripped through the tires and ended up on the rims by time it reached the yard.

that sucks..when i got my honda towed somehow someone broke in the car while at the tow place, this happend while my girl had to get the title straightned out at the dmv and going back to pick it up. The tow company said they had cameras but they happended to be off. Long story short we got a cop over there that did nothing. But they ended up replacing they window. Hopefully they pay for any damages but lets hope they're arent any
