so i decided i wasnt going to do this oil change cuz i was feeling lazy...so i go over to firestone on bruce b downs and they put the wrong oil in my gst...i didnt recognize for about 3-4 days when they then told me it wouldnt matter and itll give me better gas milage... ( i was about to slap that dude) and so they say they switched it back out, but ever since the oil change, to this day my car smokes when im stopped at a light...not to mention in front of club skyy...(how embarassing) so im wondering wtf could be wrong...could it be that my oil is overfilled...because it appears they overfilled it the second time..my manager claims the smoke is blue...i say white...wtf shud i do???

 

change out the oil yourself..no telling what they put in there. and there is no way they will take fault for it oil change spots are shady. My frined worked at jiffy lube as a manager and would tell me how some of his workers would try to do shady shit.

 

best lesson i ever learned was to NEVER let one of those all service shops do anything to my car

 

one time my gf took my car to get my oil changed as part of a bday gift.. they tried telln her i needed my trans fluid flushed then they put a cheap oil filter that goot loose with a little vibration. i pulled into a gas station and it was leaking good. Luckily i caught it and saw it was so loose i had to tighten it with my hand

 

I take my shit to MIDAS my USF--I'm on one of their student plans. I watch them like a hawk when they got my car no complaints from me so far...but my car is a shit heap so what does it matter

 

I had the same problem. Could be the oil they are using. I noticed when I used Royal Purple my car would smoke white/blue. But when I use Mobil 1 it doesnt do it at all. Might have something to do with the thickness. IDK

 

Either take it to a reputable shop,or do it yourself.These conglomerates hire half assed,dopes who are just looking for a paycheck.I have lost count of jobs I've got from places like them.
Power steering fluid in the master cylinder-I used to get 2 or 3 of those a month from Jiffy Lube,when I worked for my uncle-motor jobs courtesy of Wal Mart-countless.
Sometimes,it's just not worth the risk going to "economy" outfits--they all work on commission,and most of them are clueless.So they like to sell work they don't properly know how to do.

 

well do you guys think if i bring my car to jiffy lube, theyll be able to tell what kind of oil it is by looking at its thickness....? cuz if the wrong oil is in there ima try to do everything i can to fuckin get paid str8 up...ive beenspeaking to the district manager...but hes trying me with the "o your car has 114000 miles on it..." im like so wat it never smoked a day before the wrong oil was put in it...and thats my claim to fame...I dont even think they really changed it...

Tis possible,it's sad,that you can't rely on people to do their job properly.
If you don't like to,or can't do your job properly,quit,and find something else.Don't be a jack ass,and screw people's shit up,some people have alot of $$ and pride in their rides.Have some respect.
