Default Sliping out of 4th

At normal speed when you shift into forth gear it will stay untill you accelerate then the tranny pops/slips back into nuetral. Only happens in this gear. What could be the culprit and possible cost to fix? Im not big on the bottom end of things. I was told it could be loose bolts on the tranny wear the clutch meets, but I figure that would cause 5th to slip as well.

Thanks guys

it means your shift fork inside the tranny is worn. this happens when the car is driven with your hand resting on the shift lever while driving. the fork can long longer fully engage the gear so it pops back out. its not a syncro problem

I dont think its the syncros because they usually cause problems shifting into gear not sliping back out. how much is parts+labor for a shift fork usually?

Thanks for the offer GSX/SC.

if you bring me the tranny it will cost about 150, provided thats all thats wrong. its not uncommon to see more failing parts when the tranny is opened.
