hi. my name is steven and my car sux. i have the 1.8 SOHC and i want to get an engine swap to the 2.0 turbo. i have been told that i cant and i would like to know if anyone has successfully accomplished it. i also need to get a tranny swap from auto to stick. performance parts are also difficult to find. i made the intake myself by unbolting the filter housing and bracketing a K&N to the house. for the exhaust i gutted the cat and ran it straight although thats going to be fixed shortly w/ a tannabe cat-back exhaust. i was also going to look at ceramic heads but i dont want to do very much w/ this engine. if u have any info on 1G eclipses please hit me up. u can also im me at

i found the tranny and engine in a slavge yard w/ 60000 miles on it for 500 for both.

 

Dont forget Mass air sensor innercooler and piping BOV.

Plus all the time and labor involved. Im still feeling the pain from puttung a modded tranny and stronger internals in my car.

If it were me I would buy a 89-93 mirage and do the swap to that car. Much lighter of a vehicle.

 

well it looks like i am in luck. my car has been totaled by an ass in a cadillac coming out of an apartment complex in reverse across a main road. i hit him in like a T shape and am in the the process of suing due to injuries sustained from the accident. i think ill end up with around 20000 at least. im debating on putting a lot of that money into my friends 91 CRX. he offered to sell for 2700. the car is already gutted w/ racing seats but im thinking about either a gst gsx or maybe type r. i would appreciate it if u guys would tell me what u think.

 

I think you should screw the rest and by the best. Get a 99 and up Mustang w/ a blower and call it a night. Thats my honest opinion.

 

sorry about the injuries..but otherwise a score...get an awd DSM....or a galant vr-4 if you can find one....if you want reliability...run from starions...
