I want to swap a 93 4g63t into a 1997 eclipse rs.What do you guys think is it possible?I know the engine bay will need some modification but thats not a problem.

The friend of the family owns his own shop and said he would do the swap free of charge.I want roughly around 250-300hp out of her because she is going to be a show car eventually down the road but as for now im searching for more performance.So I have a shop thats willing to help me out just I need to know what parts I need to buy thats the only catch is that I have to have my own parts.

 

if im not mistaken the na engines are reversed from the turbo ones. i think and i say i think youd have a better chance at swapping an srt4 engine in there.

This "friend of the family" obviously doesn't know the extent of everything involved in order to perform a swap you seem to be wanting. For the money you're willing to spend on another engine to do this, you might as well just buy the parts to boost the 420a instead. Depending on how much this shop knows, and is actually planning on doing for you "labor free", you can easily attain this goal of yours...without the headaches and unforseen problems that would arise with said swaps.

Evo swap is becoming more and more popular for these cars. FYI You will be spending more money swapping the motor in there then it would to buy a gst or gsx

well, if its gonna be for show, most of the 420A turbo kits i've seen put the turbo way up in plain sight, not under the manifold like a 4g63.

if its for SHOW, put a nice big turbo shiny comp housing on your 420a

 

Ive been dying to see someone do this swap. I would do it if I had a N/A.

 

i wouldnt to expensive for not as much performance why not just buy a gst? lol
