1g Head VS 2g Head
The deal is i can either buy a 1g head or have my stock intake mani and 2g head ported. I just purchased a 63mm throttle body to go with either head. Both will be about the same price..
What do you guys think???
Thanks guys

dont port a 2g head. and dont go 1g head, the 2g head is a better head. get a new intake manifold, like a jmfab or cyclone. if you get the cyclone you will need to have the ports on it epoxy'd to match the 2g ports since it is meant for the bigger 1g ports.

Idk but a 1g head with a properly set up cyclone manifold is pretty efficient. But i dont think its worth the trouble to get a 1g head on your 7bolt block for a cyclone, now if you were doing a 6bolt swap then id say yea since itd probably be coming with the motor...
Also some of ya'l answers are too broad because he never stated his end goal with the car, and depending his goals porting a 2ghead could be worthwhile.

my end goal is just to sacrifice a little bottom for a little bit of top. I am going to keep the 2g head now i just need to figure out what im going to do with it. The only things that are going into the head are FP2's and some 3g lifters. BTW its a 7 bolt

i always thought the 1g head/intake manifold/TB were 'upgrades' from the 2g ones????
Port the 2g head/Intake mani OR do my own little port job and buy a SMIM to go with my 63mm throttle body? Both about the same price. What do you guys think??

dont port, buy the smim. all ive heard from porting is its a waste of money, doesnt help, and ive heard of some people actually losing hp from it. a SMIM with those cams will scream past 8k rpms.
