I have been pretty cought up in dsm.org about all the things one could do to these cars but one of them bothers me the easy mode where a T fitting is installed in the line going to the wastegate and you use a valve to bleed air to fool the wastegate into thinking there is less boost than there really is. Is there any probs with using this method other than trying not to exceed a certain amount of boost. Also what clutches have yall had the best luck with? You all do realize that once I get this thing I will become very annoying with my questions but heh I dont wanna blow the sumbitch up and I understand turbo enginesand theory of operation etc.. but have little experience messin with them. I think the first thing Im gonna do is a new fuel pump and all preventative stuff first kind of cheap insurance

I reckon the first thing I am going to do is the fuel pump swap then the 4 pinion center diff at the same time do clutch also along with anything like mounts that need replacing. Then Ill start delving into the motor. All I have to do is sell my damn truck so I can hurry up and get this car! Thank god the person is holding it for me!

The T mod is not the best way to handle boost control. For as little as $55 you can purchase a ball and spring type boost controller that will give you nice control and adjustability without some of the downfalls of a bleeder type. A bleeder type does just what it says under boost. It bleeds of some signal (sir) to the wasegate. This is basically a big fat vacuum leak when you are not in the boost. It is also bleeding off some of the air the Mass Airflow sensor has already accounted for. The ball and spring type puts a restriction in the vacuum line to the wastegate and does not bleed it off.

As far as mods and what order you do them there are some beaten paths to follow. Try www.buschurracing.com or www.turbotrix.com and check out their staged upgrades. A fuel pump and clutch are very good upgrades as well as nice insurance but the 4 pinion center diff is really not necessary. Several people are running low 12s to high 11s on the factory open center diff.

Find us on saturday nights and we can give a quick and easy recipie to a mid 13 sec street car for right at $1000 bucks.
