I hate them!! I have heard the VIN # horror stories before but they are VIN-NAZIs!! I could not get them to sell me an O2 sensor for any reason. I would have brought my VIN with me but I didnt know I was going to Tampa untill I had already left the house.

F*ck it... Im buying one from pep-boys...

Why wouldnt they sell you a O2 sensor? You have to have your VIN on you to get one? WTF is that about?

Easiest way to get around it is to carry a VIN # in your wallet from a car exactly like the one you want parts for. I get VINs off of www.autotrader.com.

but his car is made from Chrysler. I had the same problem but they just wanted the model number from the decal on the door and the month and year of my car when I ordered a new speedometer sensor.

I told them the year make model engine/drivetrain configuration build date EPROM ECU and told them i had a friend drive me up from bradenton to get the part. not good enuff i guess...

What if my car was an all out race car and had a motor from a different year car and no cat. and all the crap that goes with a race car? They still need a VIN??? thats stupid...

wonder what they would do if I gave them Jerry VIN from his Mirage?

Just do what I did. Go to Autotrader.com and get a VIN for every year they make for a AWD and write it on a piece of paper and had it to them and tell them to pick one. That guy thought I was crazy or something when I needed those manifold/TB gaskets. It was great.
